Type 2- A Tragic Comedy is a sensitive, realistic
portrayal of the highs and lows of bipolar disorder.
The story chronicles the career of a stand up comic
who suffers from the illness. We also see how
her periods of depression and mania affect her
husband and their relationship. "Type 2" is a
rags to riches to reality tale that pulls no punches
from either viewpoint. The show features the
re-teaming of comic genius Michelle Mainwaring,
who won WODL Best Actress award for her dark,
dramatic portrayal of Annie Wilkes in "Misery" and
her partner in that production Jason Gale who was
nominated for best actor.
Gale wrote the script, utilizing his research and personal battle
with the illness. If you know or think you know
someone who is bipolar, you must see this show.

Deepen your understanding of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system through Mysore style practice, study of the eight limbs and interactive discussions concerning asana, yoga therapy and injury prevention, pranayama, meditation, yoga philosophy, yogic diet and cleansing practices.
Join Jamie and Katie on an incredible 6 day, 40 hour yoga-intensive journey through the Ashtanga system.
Experience incredible breathroughs in your asana practice through hands on assistance from Jamie and Katie and receive lots of one-on-one attention.
Move beyond the physical practice of yoga asanas and experience how yoga can change your perspective, your mood, your reactions and ultimately your life!
The mornings will consist of Mysore style practice under Katie and Jamie's tutelage. **Mysore style practice is the most effective and fulfilling method of learning the Ashtanga system and is appropriate for students of all levels-from ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS to more advanced practitioners. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE MEMORIZED PRIMARY SERIES in order to practice Mysore style**
You will learn at your own level and pace. A practice that is truly yours will be cultivated. Master your breath and break through physical boundaries with a Mysore style practice!!
Asanas will then be workshopped and questions will be answered
a 1 hour break for lunch
Afternoons will consist of an exploration of the eight limbs as well as interactive discussions covering asana, pranayama, yoga therapy and injury prevention, meditation, yoga philosophy, chakras, yogic diet and cleansing practices.
On the final day, following the morning session, we will celebrate the completion of the course with a raw-food feast, (and we do mean feast!!) catered by Livelive.
This intensive is open to ALL LEVELS and is a must for teacher's in training, as well as anyone wanting to dive deeper into their yoga practice!
Katie's Bio: Katie is the co-owner of De La Sol Yoga studios in Hamilton, Ontario. She has studied the Ashtanga Vinyasa system extensively and has been teaching the system full time for the past 13 years. She has had the privelege of studying with Ashtanga Yoga masters David and Doug Swenson, Paul and Rachelle Gold, Richard Freeman and David Williams. She also spent 4 months in Mysore, India studying with the grandfather of Ashtanga Yoga Sri K Pattabhi Jois as well as yoga master Sheshadri at the Yoga Mandala. Katie emphasizes correct alignment and integrity of the breath in her Ashtanga teachings as well as strong elements of humour, enthusiasm and wicked hands-on adjustments! Her relaxed approach and advanced practice will inspire you on your path.
